MENKERA.  Also Menkara.  A king of Egypt of the IVth dynasty.  He built the third pyramid, restored the worship of the gods which had been neglected, and greatly increased the adoration of Osiris.  He reigned sixty-three years, and was the Mycerinus of the Greeks.  His sarcophagus and a portion of his mummy is in the British Museum. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
