| NEFER-HOTEP.
Neferhotep. "Good Peace." A fourth priest of Amen Ra. Period
uncertain. Nefer-hotep, a governor of the town of Apu or
Panopolis. The period when he lived is unknown. Nefer-hotep
I., II., III., IV., etc. The name of many Egyptian kings of the
XIIIth dynasty, who ruled over the whole of Egypt, and were succeeded
alternately by other kings named Sebekhotep. There are no materials
yet existing for a history of their reigns. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
