| NEFER. "Good."
The Egyptian guitar. It had from two to four strings, and was
sometimes called Nabla. It was used as the Hieroglyphic
character for the adjective "good." Nefer, an
Egyptian Sutenrekh or royal father, and "Chief of the Place of
Light, (?)" "Chief of the Commissariat of the Young
Soldiers," and "Chief of the great House of Provisions" of
an unnamed Egyptian monarch. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
