NEKHTARHEBI.  Or Nekh-ta-nebi.  The first king of the XXXth Egyptian or Sebennytic dynasty.  He fought against the Persians under Artaxerxes II., and taking advantage of a dissension which arose in the invading army between its two commanders, he succeeded in defeating the Persians at the battle of Mendes, and drove them from the Delta.  He was a great promoter of the arts, and restored many of the buildings and temples of the older dynasties.  He reigned nineteen years and was succeeded by his son Teos.  He was the Nectanebo of the Greeks.
