ODO.  German.  The same as Otto (q.v.), meaning "rich," from Teutonic od (wealth).  Also see Audo, Audr, Oda, and Udr.

... though Domesday shows plenty of Eudos and Odos, neither form took root (in England), and both are entirely continental. (History of Christian Names, Yonge, 1884)
