OSGOD.  Anglo-Saxon name meaning "rune-god," from Old English os "god, rune," and god "god."  It is the same as Old Norse Asgautr. (A Handy Dictionary of Anglo-Saxon Poetry Based on Groschopp's Grein, Harrison-Baskervill, 1886)
