OTTOKAR.  Bohemian.  Another name for Odoacer (Audvakr, "treasure watcher"), but not the same name.  According to Yonge, it is equal to Germanic Ortgar (q.v.), Anglo-Saxon Eadgar (q.v.), meaning "rich spear," from Teutonic od (O.N. audr, A.S. ead, wealth), and gar (spear). (History of Christian Names, Yonge, 1884).  Also spelled Otakar, and Otokar.
