OUTIGIRN.  Welsh.  Also spelled Eutigirn, which see for more.  The name probably means "fond of his king."  Eudeyrn is said to be a later form of this name. (The Academy and Literature, v.21, 1882).  Baring-Gould connects it with Gwrthigern ("excelling king"). (The Lives of the British Saints, Baring-Gould, v.2, 1908).
