Petronilla of Aquitaine (d. 1193), was the daughter of William X of Aquitaine and Aenor of Châtellerault.  Sister Petronilla Keller was one of the five German sisters who founded St. Scholastica's College in 1906.  Petronilla Ramirez (d. 1173), was Queen regnant of Aragon.  Petronilla de Meath (d. 1324), was the maidservant of the Irish noblewoman, Dame Alice Kyteler; she was accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake. ... The feminines of Peter are Petronilla, said to have been his daughter, and whence has come Petronilla in Spanish, Petronille shortened into Nille in Norway, Pernel or Parnel, once exceeding common, though now forgotten, in England; but other female names have been made direct from that of the saint, Peronetta in Italy, Perretta in France, and even Petrina in Scotland and Sweden.
