PELLEHEM.
Arthurian. Father or uncle to Perceval.
... In the Queste, the sister
of Peredur (Perceval) is made to tell him, that they are the offspring
of King Pellehem; but as Pellehem can hardly be anything but one of the
forms of the name of Perceval's uncle, better known as Pellean and Pellehan,
the name Pellehem in this connection is probably an error for Pellinore... (Studies in
Arthurian Legend, Rhys, 1891)
... When they had perused the
writing, the maiden asked Perceval, if he knew her; and he answered,
that he wist not ever to have seen her. "Know," she
said, "that I am your sister, daughter of King Pellehem; and I
command you, as the thing on earth dearest to me, not to enter this
ship, unless you have perfect faith in Christ, for sure am I that
otherwise you would perish."... (King Arthur and the Table Round,
Chretien-Newell, 1911)
