RIM (ريم).  Arabic name, derived from the name of a kind of gazelle, the El Rim, "antelope addax." 

The Arabs speak of three kinds (of gazelle), viz.:—1. El Rim (antelope addax).  2. El Edam (A. leucoryx).  3. El'Afar, which I cannot satisfactorily identify. (Nature: International Journal of Science, Lockyer, v.4, May 1871)
