from Assyrian Rabsak = "chief of the princes"].
Not the name, but the office or title of a man who
represented Sennacherib at the siege of Jerusalem, and was sent to urge
the surrender of the city. He was the Assyrian vizier, or
prime-minister (2 Kings, xviii. 17-xix. 34; Isa xxxvi. 2-xxxvii.
35). What his individual name was is unknown. (The Sunday
