Anderson, (Rasmus Björn,) an
American author, born of Norwegian parents at Albion, Wisconsin, January
12, 1846, was educated at the Norwegian Luther College, Decorah,
Iowa. In 1875 he was appointed professor of Scandinavian languages
in the University of Wisconsin, but retired from that position in
1884. He was United States minister to Denmark, 1885-89. With Dr. F. W. Horn, he wrote a "History of the Scandinavian
