RITIGERN.  An older form of Welsh Rhydeyrn (q.v.), probably meaning "warrior-chief," from rhys ("warrior") and Tigernos ("chief"). (The Academy and Literature, v.21, 1882).  See note under Eudeyrn.  Ritigern, great-grandson of Vortigern of the Lips. (Flame-Bearers of Welsh History, Rhoscomyl, 1905).
