SAMSI.  A queen of the Arabs.  She at first promised allegiance to Tiglath Pileser II., but afterwards revolted, upon which she was driven from her throne, and an Assyrian governor appointed over the kingdom.  After a while she was captured and restored to the crown, but under the control of an Assyrian officer. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
