SALAH-ED-DIN (صلاح الدين).  A variant form of Arabic Salah-al-Din (q.v.), meaning "mission of the Faith."  Also written Salah-eddin.  Saladin is an Anglicized form.  This was the name of a famous Sultan whose full name and title was El-Melik en-Nasir Abu-l-Muzaffar Salah-ed-dunya-wa-d-din Yusuf ibn Ayyub.
