SALEH.
In Arabic history a prophet who entreated the Thamudites to renounce
idolatry, and as a sign of his miraculous mission made a camel with its
colt to come out of the solid rock. The Thamudites continuing
incredulous, to please them a man named Codar el Ahmar slew the sacred
beast, whereupon Saleh announced the destruction of the tribe, which
took place three days afterwards, when a thunderbolt fell from heaven
and consumed them all.
