SAMAS-IBNI.  A king of the Dakkuri, a desert tribe on the West of Babylon.  He taking advantage of the weak state of the Assyrian empire on the death of Sennachierb, pillaged the borders of the country of Babylon; but he was defeated by Esarhaddon, who burned him alive, and made one Nabu-salim, son of Balasu, king over the Dakkuri. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
