given to James Graham, Marquis of Montrose (1612-1650), on account of
his heroic deeds in the cause of Charles I. 2) A name given by the
Portuguese peasantry to Dom Sebastião Jose de Carvalho, Marquis de
Pombal (1699-1782), the greatest of all Portuguese statesmen, and one of
