SHU.  Egyptian name meaning "light."  In mythology, the deity of light.  He was sometimes called Sos.  This was also the name of one of the mystical deities of the Ritual of the Dead.  He was one of the children of Ra, and the consort of Tefnut. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
