Babylonian. The name appears as the name of a pa-azag on the Hoffman tablet, in the General Theological Seminary, New York City,
which is said to be one of the most ancient of all human writings,
assigned the date of 5000 B.C. A pa-azag is an officer who
performs ceremonial purifications.
