(1) The wife of Er, the son of Judah. When left
a widow, she acted in a way that cannot be approved of, became the
mother of Perez and Zerah (Gen. xxxviii. 6-26), and was an ancestress of
our Lord (Matt. i. 3).
(2) The beautiful sister of Absalom, who had his
brother Amnon assassinated for ill-using her (2 Sam. xiii. 1-39; 1 Chron.
iii. 9).

II. Places.
(1) Tadmor (I Kings ix. 18—R.V.). The A.V.,
