TAUTHE.  Tavthe.  In Greco-Babylonian mythology, the daughter of Sige, or the primaeval matter, the sister and wife of Apason, and the mother of the gods, and of Moumis, the intelligent world.  Tauthe was derived from Akkadian Tihamtu, meaning "the sea." (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
