Origin of the name THÉRÈSE.
Etymology of the name THÉRÈSE.
Meaning of the baby name THÉRÈSE.

THERESE.  A form of Theresa (q.v.), meaning "harvester, reaper."  Usage: America, Austria, Canada, England, France (Thérèse), Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Norway, Sweden.
Marie-Francoise-Thérèse  Martin (d. 1897), was a French Carmelite nun.  Thérèse Rein, an Australian entrepreneur.  Mary Therese Friel, an American beauty queen.  Therese Charlotte Luise of Saxony-Hildburghausen (d. 1854), was a queen of Bavaria.  Malin Therese Alshammar, a Swedish swimmer. (Wiki)

... The empress-queen of Louis XIV. greatly added to the fame of Thérèse, so Theresa became known everywhere, though more in Roman Catholic countries and families than elsewhere.  That it nowhere occurs in older English pedigrees is one of the signs that it was the property of a saint whose claims to reverence began after the Reformation. (History of Christian Names, Yonge, 1884)
