TII. Another
form, adopted by some Egyptologists, of the name of Queen Taia,
of the XVIIIth dynasty. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
It is probably a feminine form of Ti
(q.v.), meaning "giving."
... The name of Tii or Thii,
variously spelled, is commonly met with in funereal inscriptions of
earlier dynasties than the eighteenth, and Professor Maspero suggests
that it may even be a feminine form of Ti, or Thi,
whose name is familiar to us through one of the most famous tombs of the
Pyramid period... (Egypt of the Past, Wilson,
1893).
