TAKARUT. Takarut
I. A king of Egypt of the XXIInd dynasty. He succeeded
Uaserken or Osorkon I. Nothing is recorded of his reign. He
was the Takelothes of the Greeks, and was probably named after Tuklat (Tiglath
Pileser), king of Assyria.
Takarut II., a king of Egypt in the XXIInd
dynasty. He was the son of Prince Namrut, and married a lady named
Karu-ma-ma. He reigned more than fifteen years. (An Archaic
Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
