| UMMANIGAS. Umman-igas,
one
of the three sons of Urtaki, king of Elam, who on the accession of their
uncle Teumman, fled for shelter to Assurbanipal, king of Assyria, who
received them favourably, and made them officers in his army.
Ultimately Ummanigas was made king of Elam. He then joined the
revolt of Saul-mugina, king of Babylon, against Assurbanipal, and being
again defeated was slain by his nephew Tammaritu. (An Archaic Dictionary, Cooper, 1876).
