| URHAMMU.
"Light of the Sun." An early Chaldean monarch, the first
whose name has come down to us on the Cuneiform inscriptions. He was
the seventh king of his dynasty, and built temples to the goddess
Bilit-Taauth at Ur, a great pyramid to the Moon-god Sin, and several
temples to the sun at Sippara and Larsam. He was succeeded by his
son, Ilgi.
