A.D. 484... A new prefect was then sent into Armenia, named Andekan, a Persian, a prudent and peaceable character, who, on taking possession of his office, noticed the wise pursuits of Vahan, in whose praise he wrote strongly to Valarsh.  He was shortly after recalled, and on his arrival in Persia, represented to the king that Vahan alone was worthy to rule over Armenia; and that as long as he was in being, there would be no occasion to send another prefect to that country...
