Arabic. The same as Suleima
(q.v.), a form of Salima
(q.v.), the feminine of Salim
(q.v.), meaning "peace,
safety."
ZULEIMA.
Norwegian. Lundell includes it in a list of female Swedish and
Norwegian Christian names. (Svenska landsmål och svenskt folkliv,
Lundell, v. 6, 1889). A lot of name exchanging took place in
Conquest times; and it has been asked if Corelli's Norwegian heroine Thelma
might not be related to the Arabic Zuleima. (Notes and Queries,
